I get to Ryan's (my male model) loft in Holyoke. Andrea (my female model) is already there and they're both ready to go. I have a few bags- extension cords, two work lights (super bright, and only 5 bucks each!) my Nikon and my shirts.
As I was unpacking everything, I realized that I still hadn't opened one of the lights- I had to affix the bulb in the housing since the lights are packaged pretty much unassembled. After fumbling with a nearby screwdriver, I had the bulb in the housing and plugged it in. Brand new, just out of the package- NOTHING. No light, no flicker, no slow death- darkness. What a bummer; I still had my other light (that I actually used at the last shoot, so I know this one works...) and had it strategically positioned atop an overturned trash barrel. All seemed well.
I took about 10 pictures of two different shirts- Andrea went, Ryan went- they changed, I repeated the process and snapped a few more shots. Out of nowhere-- CRASH! My last remaining light falls off the barrel and lands face down on the tile floor! Nothing broke...except the filament inside the tiny bulb! NO LIGHT!
I was forced to rely on the common room lights and my flash- luckily, not much of a difference is noticable. I am ultimately pleased with how everything turned out.
After receiving a little help from my buddy Ryan (since I couldn't get a program to open. Of course, more problems and now I'm 45 minutes late releasing these shirts!!) I got all the photos editted and posted.
